Our dedicated team at the Fred Cox Life Matters Foundation is united by a shared commitment to justice and community empowerment. Combining the passion of founding family members, skilled staff, and engaged volunteers, we work together to lead grassroots organizing, advocacy, and support programs that uplift those impacted by violence and systemic injustice.
Tenicka Smith
Tenicka Smith is the mother of Fred Cox Jr., a young man whose life was tragically cut short in 2020 when he was shot and killed during an incident involving police officers. Tenicka has been a vocal advocate for justice and police accountability ever since. She previously worked for 13 years as a Certified Pharmacy Technician and graduated from High Point Central High School in 1999. Since her son's death, she has dedicated herself to activism, community work, and advocating for systemic change. She has been actively involved in community organizations such as Khalif Court #90 PHA, where she has volunteered since 2012, contributing to various community outreach efforts. Tenicka’s work is driven by her desire to seek justice for her son and to inspire others to stand against police violence and systemic injustice.


Ric-Quanda Pollard
I am Ric-Quanda Pollard. I’m a mother of 3 girls which drives my passion for helping young women! I became more community involved after the death of my Cousin, Fred Cox. I currently serve as the President of the Foundation. I graduated from High Point Central Academy in 2013. I finished as the Salutatorian of my class. I am a proud business owner of M.A.S.E. Financials and On Tyme Trucking
Katherine McIver
Katherine McIver is a wife, mother of 3, and grandmother of 2. She graduated from North Carolina A&T State University where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies. She is the Outreach Leader at Kingdom Minded Citizens Worship Center and is dedicated to serving her local community. Katherine is a Retail Banking Coach and an active member of the Black Professional Group Network at her current place of employment.
Katherine McIver has a strong commitment to serving others and connecting with her community. She is driven by her personal experiences which has taught her perseverance. Katherine became a mother at the age of 16 years old. She made a vow within herself to be the example to other young ladies on how to "defy the odds". Katherine believes intensely that we all possess the power to navigate our own destiny.


Diana L Rothwell
High Point native mother of 2 who has always had compassion for those in need. Graduated from High Point Central High School in 1992. You may find her giving someone walking a ride or feeding the homeless. Diana has always taught her children about being a good stewart of service, that they too serve their community.
Frederica “Freddie” Dennis
Frederica has been married to Rev. Dr. Jeffrey L. Dennis for 28 years. They have one daughter, Jasmine, who attends UNC Adams School of Dentistry.
Frederica attended James B. Dudley High School and graduated from Florida A&M University in 1995 where she studied Pharmacy. She has worked in retail and hospital pharmacy and currently works as a pharmacy
IT consultant and project manager.
Having attended a predominant black high school and an HBCU, Frederica has always had compassion for the struggle that exists with the African American community. She always strives to support her community wherever the need arises.
