As summer winds down and the new school year approaches, the Fred Cox Life Matters (FCLM) Foundation proudly hosted its annual Back 2 School Drive on August 28, 2022, bringing essential school supplies, self-confidence, and community fun to 150 bright young students in High Point.
More Than Just Supplies
At the heart of this event was a spirited effort to help kids start the school year equipped and excited. We distributed 150 book bags generously filled with school supplies — everything children need to succeed in the classroom. But the day offered so much more than that.
Girls were treated to 20 free haircuts and 10 complimentary hairstyles, thanks to local partners who helped make sure every child could step into school feeling fresh and confident. The children also had the special option to personalize their new book bags with airbrushed names, adding a unique touch to their back-to-school gear.
Community, Fun, and Food
The Back 2 School Bash wasn’t just about prepping for school — it was a celebration. Kids and families enjoyed delicious fried fish sandwiches, chips, and refreshing treats from a slushy truck. Laughter and energy filled the air as children played games and connected with one another, creating joyful memories anchored in community spirit.
Partnership for Impact
This event was hosted in collaboration with Da Barbershop, located at 304 N. Centennial Street in High Point, allowing the Foundation to reach families directly where they live and thrive.
