Sistah2Sistah Holiday Giving: Bringing Light to Girls Who Need It Most

The holiday season is often described as a time of joy, warmth, and togetherness. But for many young girls who have faced abuse, trauma, and life-shaping challenges, this time of year can be a painful reminder of everything they’ve lost or never had. At Sistah2Sistah, we believe no young girl should feel unseen, forgotten, or unloved—especially during the holidays.

That is why we created the Sistah2Sistah Holiday Giving Program, a special initiative designed to uplift and celebrate 10 strong girls, ages 8–15, who have experienced various forms of abuse or trauma. This annual project embodies our mission of restoring hope, fostering healing, and creating moments of joy for girls who need encouragement the most.

💜 Why This Program Matters

Every day, young girls in our community navigate hardships many adults will never fully understand—physical, emotional, or sexual abuse; neglect; unstable living conditions; or traumatic experiences that leave long-lasting scars. Yet even in the face of these challenges, they continue to fight, dream, and show remarkable resilience.

Our goal is simple:To remind these girls that they matter. They are worthy. They are loved. They are strong.

Through Holiday Giving, we provide meaningful gifts, essentials, confidence-building activities, and a moment of celebration crafted exclusively for them. For some, this may be their first positive holiday memory in years. For others, it may be the spark that helps them begin healing.

💛 How Girls Are Selected

The application is open to families, guardians, schools, social workers, and community members who know a girl ages 8–15 who has experienced abuse or trauma.

We review each submission carefully, honoring every story with empathy, confidentiality, and respect. From these stories, we choose 10 girls whose needs and circumstances align most closely with the heart of the program.
