At Ferndale Middle School, a meaningful effort is underway to support the health and confidence of young students through the generosity of the community and the dedication of Sistah 2 Sistah. This fall, Ferndale Middle School will receive specially prepared hygiene bags to be distributed to 2-3 schools in the area, thanks to a recent donation drive organized to fund this important initiative.
Each hygiene bag is thoughtfully packed with essential items including pads, hand sanitizers, lotion, feminine wipes, compact mirrors, travel-size deodorant, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. These supplies help ensure that young girls—and all students—have access to basic hygiene products that can greatly enhance their comfort, self-esteem, and well-being throughout the school day.
The initiative is part of a larger mission by Sistah 2 Sistah to empower young girls through education, mentorship, and practical support. By meeting these everyday needs, the program addresses a critical barrier that some youth face, helping build a foundation for confidence and success both inside and outside the classroom.
Community donations have been crucial to making this project possible. The funds raised will not only cover the cost of the hygiene bags but also support ongoing programs aimed at building leadership skills and resilience among youth. This collaboration between Ferndale Middle School and Sistah 2 Sistah highlights the power of community-driven support and the impact it can have on young lives.
If you would like to contribute to this impactful work or get involved in future initiatives, consider making a donation or reaching out to Sistah 2 Sistah today. Together, we can help more young girls thrive and reach their full potential.
